2014 Blogger Challenge #6: Food
This is my tunafish pie that I looooove!
Dough:
150g of margarine
240g of flour
1 egg (medium)
½ tsp of salt
Filling:
1 can of tuna fish (pieces are better than minced)
1 big tomato
1 ½ of medium onion (or just one bigger onion :P)
3tbl of mayo
1tbl of dried green spring onion (or just the amount you want, can also be fresh)
1tsp of lemon pepper
Ca 100g of grinded cheese (I used just the most regular hard cheese there is, I love a cheese that is gentle, sour and not so salty in taste for this pie)
2 eggs
100ml milk
Instructions:
Mix the warm margarine/butter with the egg and add the salt and flour. You can mold it like playdoh until it is a ball of even pie dough. Put it into a cooler place for the time you prepare the filling.
Chop the tomato and onion. I like to mix them together so it’s easier to place them on the dough afterwards. Then mix the tuna with the mayo, lemon pepper and spring onion. Then You beat the eggs lightly and mix the milk into the eggs. I made the mistake and added the grinded cheese. Don’t do that, it’s much easier to sprinkle the cheese over the pie and then pour the egg-milk mixture over it all.
I made the dough into pieces and placed them in the form (had put baking paper on the bottom first) and evenly distributed it. I also made little air holes with a knife into the dough. The order I placed the ingredients on the dough : tuna fish mixture, tomato & onion mix, cheese and egg-milk mixture.
Left it into the oven for 45-50minutes.
